Year in review: Travel and Exploration

In terms of the big travel events this year, the trip to Grand Cayman takes the cake.

But, Maggie and I also camped at Friend Park and hiked Laramie Peak, spent a great night at Brooklyn Lake with Julia and Nevin, spent a great week at Maggie's folks' place in July, and returned to Wisconsin again in October for Maggie's cousin's wedding.

citizens arrest

What are the rules for citizens arrest? Specifically, if there's a girl talking on her cell phone, with half her car windows frosted over, who doesn't wait her turn at the four-way, would I get in trouble if I pulled her out of her car and slapped her with her phone a couple of times? I suppose that doesn't quite count as citizens arrest. Vigilante justice, maybe. Whack, whack! In less aggravating news, tomorrow is the last day of classes for the semester. Finally. It's been a long time comin' this fall. I really should start thinking about the trip to WV and AZ and start planning some Christmas gifty-gifts.

Damn! All my training is for shit! Here is a clever sign, but I can't explain why. Is this an example of irony? And if it's irony, is it dramatic irony? Or situational? Maybe verbal? Oh, the shame of being a member of Las Departamento de English and not being able to identify a smart rhetorical play when I see it! The shame!
